In part two of this two-part series, we’re going to dive into the nicknames of players that have yet to officially grace the field for Creighton. This is a lot like discovering buried treasure or ancient, hidden hieroglyphics in that cave you’ve been trapped in for half a decade.
With all of these names I have to include a disclaimer: according to the players I’ve sampled, all of them love their nicknames. They’re not meant to be derogatory. They’re meant to be a badge of honor. If you happen to see these names pop up on twitter dot com, or on stories featured on this site, that means that they’re actively playing in a division one baseball game.
In most years I don’t give names to players who fail to get playing time. That’s changing this season, primarily so we can have unity amongst the entire team.
